The Roman town of Obernburg, situated on the northern edge of Bavaria, is idyllically nestled between Spessart and Odenwald, where the small rivers “Mömling” and “Elsava” flow into the Main.

At present there are about 8500 inhabitants living in Obernburg. Medieval half-timbered houses in combination with modern architecture and rural tranquillity characterise today’s cityscape of the former district town. The historic old town is definitely worth a visit.

Especially the bikers  may enjoy Obernburg: The biker road as well as the German “Limes-Radweg” are very popular and directly lead you through the city of Obernburg.

For bikers the “Obernburger Stern” offers six attractive day bike tours. From Obernburg you may explore the beautiful Main Valley with its vineyard terraces, castles and palaces. The Gottwalds Inn provides everything for your tour: A lockable bicycle cellar, an own bicycle workshop as well as the possibility to charge the batteries of your e-bike. Even if you might catch a rain shower on your bike tour – dryers are available for your wet clothes.

The city nearby, Aschaffenburg, also called the “Bavarian Nice” as well as Miltenberg – are perfect spots for a day trip.

Discover art and culture in Obernburg. The “Käferplage” (Oldtimer meeting) and the summer festival  attract thousands of visitors every year. The cabaret “Kochsmühle” offers a great cabaret program on weekends (2 minutes walk).

Nearby there is the Roman Museum or the Museum of Local History

Why not trying clay pigeon shooting? Minigolf or bowling?

Bistros, ice cream parlours, taverns and outdoor restaurants invite you to linger.

Visit the wine festivals in Erlenbach, Klingenberg or Grosswallstadt during summertime.

Next to Obernburg there is an indoor pool in Elsenfeld, an outdoor pool in Grosswallstadt and the beautiful “Honisch”-Beach in Niedernberg. It is only a stone’s throw away from us.

Shopping fans have the opportunity to pursue their passion in Frankfurt, Würzburg or Aschaffenburg. If you look for special bargain take a ride to the Outlets Wertheim Village or Raffaello Rossi in Grosswallstadt.

You may reach Frankfurt and Würzburg easily via the expressway B469/ motorway A3. The journey to Frankfurt Airport takes approx. 35 minutes and to the Frankfurt Fair approx. 40 minutes.
